Screenshots, ready to share. Simply Snip is a screenshot extension for Chrome. Capture part of a web page with live spacing guides, then crop, annotate and copy the original screenshot or give it a styled background—all without leaving your browser. CAPTURE WHAT YOU NEED • Select an area, capture the visible page, or capture a full scrolling page. • Scroll the page or a scrolling panel while choosing an area. The screenshot and guides update when you stop. • Hover an element, optionally lock it with L, then choose Capture element or press E to capture its visible rectangle directly. • Use live measurements and optional snapping to balance the margins around your selection. Cycle references or hold Alt to bypass snapping. • Enable Adjust before capture to move and resize an area before continuing. • Set a 3, 5 or 10 second capture delay, or take one still image of a window or screen through Chrome’s source chooser. Sharing stops after capture; no audio or video file is recorded. • Import or paste images into the studio. KEEP THE ORIGINAL OR STYLE IT • Choose Screenshot only to copy or download one capture at its native pixel dimensions, with your annotations and deliberate crop. No added backdrop, frame, shadow or enlargement. • Switch to Styled for backgrounds, frames, rounded corners and shadows. Your design choices stay available when you switch modes. • Arrange up to four images, or create a two-image comparison with labels and captions. Multiple images use Styled so every image stays included. • Save a look for your next screenshot. CROP AND ANNOTATE • Drag the preview’s edges or corners in Screenshot only to refine the crop. • Use Crop above the preview to resize or move the selection. Reset, Cancel and Done keep the adjustment under your control, including for an individual image in a multi-image design. • Pull a crop back out within the original capture. Undo, Redo and saved canvases preserve the source and annotations. • Add arrows, shapes, text and highlights, or cover details with solid black redaction. COPY, SAVE AND RETURN • Copy the finished image or download a PNG. The preview, clipboard and download use the same rendering. • Enable automatic copy to place the first result on your clipboard. PNG download remains available when a website blocks copying. • Resume up to 5 locally saved canvases with up to 100 undo/redo steps each, within a 100 MB total artwork and history budget. Your screenshots, imports, annotations and temporary page geometry are handled locally. Saved artwork, history and personal preset names are encrypted and unlock automatically in this Chrome profile. Images aren’t sent to a server. No account, analytics or remote fonts. Studio crops keep the original source in local saved artwork/history so you can reframe it; exported PNGs contain the chosen crop. Delete saved canvases and temporary captures in Settings. Local encryption does not protect a compromised device or whole browser profile. Read the privacy page for retention and device-security details. Full-page capture covers the main document; nested scrolling panels, infinite feeds and changing pages may need separate area captures. Direct element capture uses visible page-element bounds; it does not reveal offscreen content or identify objects inside images. Scrolling resets an unfinished area or locked reference. Very large images have limits, and some browser-protected pages require a separate studio tab or cannot be captured. Alt+Shift+C is the requested activation shortcut; Ctrl+Shift+Z selects an area (Control+Shift+Z on macOS). Chrome or your operating system can leave a conflicting default unassigned. The popup and Settings show current bindings; configure them in Chrome’s extension shortcut settings. Requires Chrome 131 or later.
