Fit — Video Compressor
Overview
Compress any video to fit a size limit. Runs on your computer — nothing is uploaded.
Your video is too big to send. Fit makes it fit. Drop in a video, choose a target size, and Fit compresses it to land under that limit. A 350 MB clip becomes 23 MB in about twenty seconds. NOTHING IS UPLOADED Compression runs entirely on your own computer, using your machine's video encoder. Your video never touches a server, because there is no server. No account, no sign-up, no file size cap, no watermark, no queue. It works with your internet disconnected. CHOOSE A TARGET SIZE Presets cover the common email and chat attachment limits, or you can type any size in megabytes. Fit works out the bitrate needed to land under that number, encodes, checks the result, and tightens it if it overshot. You get a file that actually fits, rather than one that is merely smaller. ALSO INCLUDED • Trim the start and end — usually the biggest saving, since most oversized videos have dead air • Scale down to 1080p, 720p, 480p or 360p • Reduce the frame rate • Shrink the audio to mono, or remove it entirely • Extract the audio on its own as an MP3 • A quality mode when you want it smaller but have no fixed limit FORMATS Reads MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM and AVI, including the HEVC that newer phones record by default, and 4K at 60fps. Always writes a standard MP4 that plays anywhere. PRIVACY Fit collects nothing. No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, no accounts. It makes no network requests at all — the compression engine is bundled inside the extension rather than fetched.
