Forced break from browsing
Distractr — Forced breaks from the internet Unplug is a no-willpower-required browsing timer. After your work interval, every open tab is covered with a full-screen overlay until your break ends. No "skip" button you'll regret hitting, no notification you'll dismiss — the screen is just gone until the timer says you can come back. How it works Set your work and break durations (default: 25 min work, 5 min break). When the timer flips to break, every tab gets covered. Input is blocked. When the break ends, your tabs come back exactly as you left them. Customize it to fit your life Rename the phases to whatever motivates you — Work / Break, Focus / Rest, Study / Snack / Reflect, anything. Whitelist hosts that should stay accessible during breaks (e.g. your music player, Slack, a meditation app). Wildcards like *.example.com are supported. Upload your own image for the break overlay Why it works Most productivity timers ask you to be disciplined. Unplug doesn't ask — it just blocks. Once you set it, the only way through is to wait. Free, open source, no tracking, no accounts.
