Discord Translator Bot helps you read messages and translate replies directly in Discord Web. View translations beneath the original messages, automatically translate incoming chats, and translate your drafts before sending—all while staying in the conversation. The extension runs in your browser and adds translation controls beside messages and your draft composer. Use it to follow conversations across languages and prepare replies in your chosen language. • Translate individual messages Hover over a message and click the translation icon. The translated text appears below the original, so you can read both versions together without switching to another tab or copying text into a separate translator. • Automatically translate incoming chats Turn on “Auto translate messages” in the extension popup to translate new incoming messages into your selected language. You can also use the message translation icon when you prefer to translate individual messages manually. • Translate drafts before sending Write your reply in the Discord message composer, then click the translation icon beside your draft or press Alt + T. Review the translated text before sending it. Draft translation is triggered by you and does not send the message automatically. • Choose your target language Select your preferred language from the “Translate into” dropdown. The same selection applies to the messages you read and the drafts you translate. The source language is detected automatically, and you can change your target language whenever needed. • Choose a translation engine Start with Google Translate as the default engine. Pro unlocks additional options: Google Gemini, Groq, OpenAI, DeepL, local Ollama, and a custom API connection. Available languages and translation results depend on the engine you use. • Connect your own provider with Pro Choose an engine in Settings and enter the required connection details. Add your API key, choose a model where applicable, or enter a Base URL for a custom API. Use “Test connection” to check your setup, then “Save engine” to apply it to subsequent translations. The free plan includes 50 translations per day using the default engine. A paid Pro license removes the extension’s daily translation limit and unlocks additional engines and connection settings. Activate your purchased license through “Unlock Pro” in the extension. Third-party provider charges, quotas, and rate limits still apply; a Pro license does not include paid API credits. Local Ollama requires a local setup and does not require an API key. To get started: 1. Install the extension and pin it to your browser toolbar. 2. Open Discord Web. If it was already open during installation, refresh the tab. 3. Open the extension popup and choose your target language. 4. Translate a message, enable automatic incoming translation, or translate a draft using its icon or Alt + T. API keys are saved on your device, as described in the extension’s setup guide. When you use an online translation provider, the text being translated is processed by that service. Processing depends on your selected engine and configuration. Designed for Discord Web in Chrome. Translation quality and language availability vary by provider, so review translated replies before sending.
