Discogs TopTool 1.0 Discogs TopTool is a Chrome extension that enhances Discogs with advanced collection and wantlist comparison, Smart Buy, and seller analysis tools. INSTALLATION ------------ ⚙️ FIRST SETUP — REQUIRED After installing the extension: 1. Open Extension Options. 2. Enter your Discogs username. 3. Enter your Discogs API token. You can create your personal token here: https://www.discogs.com/settings/developers 4. Click Save. The extension will not work correctly until the username and API token are configured. COLLECTION & WANTLIST --------------------- When browsing another Discogs user's profile, the extension works with both: - Collection - Wantlist The extension first loads the required data. A "Loading..." message is shown while this is happening, so wait until the loading process finishes. After loading, click "Entire" to open the full-list view. The Entire view contains the complete loaded list and allows you to compare the releases using the available filters. Use the filters to quickly find: - releases you own that are on the other user's Wantlist - releases from their collection that are on your Wantlist - releases you both have on your Wantlists - releases you both have in your collections SMART BUY --------- Smart Buy is used from your own Discogs Wantlist. 1. Open your Wantlist. 2. Select the releases you are interested in using the green checkboxes. 3. Click "Find Sellers". 4. The extension finds sellers who have the selected releases. 5. When a seller has multiple matching releases, click "Choose". 6. Smart Buy then shows the available matching items from that seller. This makes it easier to see which seller can provide several releases from your Wantlist and review the available copies before buying. SELLER SPECIAL FILTERS ---------------------- Seller Special Filters work on: - the seller's full list of items for sale - the seller's "My Wants" page containing items from your Wantlist FULL SELLER LIST ---------------- When browsing a seller's complete list, do not load the entire catalogue immediately. First use the normal Discogs filters to narrow the results. For example: Genre: House Years: 1995-2008 Format: Vinyl After setting the Discogs filters, click: "Load Entire Filtered Seller List" Wait until the complete filtered list has finished loading. Then enable: "Enable Special Filters" The available special filters are: - Most Wanted - Rarest - Want / Have Ratio MY WANTS -------- Seller Special Filters can also be used on a seller's "My Wants" page. This page already contains releases from the seller that match your Wantlist, so the special filters can be used directly on this smaller result set. ⚠️ IMPORTANT: IT MAY SOMETIMES FREEZE OR DISPLAY INCORRECTLY. THIS CAN HAPPEN WHEN PROCESSING LARGE AMOUNTS OF DISCOGS DATA. IF THIS HAPPENS, SIMPLY REFRESH THE DISCOGS PAGE. IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTS, CLOSE THE DISCOGS TABS AND OPEN THEM AGAIN. THE EXTENSION WILL THEN START FRESH.
