Discogs Quick Spin
Overview
Discogs Quick Spin previews Discogs listings with embedded YouTube audio snippets in-place using hover cards.
Discogs Quick Spin turns Discogs into your own endless record store listening booth! As you browse releases, just hover your mouse over an album cover: a compact hover card pops up with a playable video and simple controls to move through the tracks on that record. You can quickly sample songs, flip through tracks, and discover new music without ever leaving the Discogs page you’re on. Key features: • Seamless Discogs “add-on”: works directly on discogs.com as you browse • Hover to listen: move your cursor over an album cover to open an instant preview player • Track navigation: use the hover card buttons to step through the tracks of the release • Discovery-friendly: audition multiple records quickly, like crate-digging in a real shop Disclaimers: • Playback depends on matching Discogs listings with available YouTube videos. When there is no suitable video or the mapping is off, some track-change buttons may not work as expected. • Previews always start muted. Because of Chrome’s autoplay rules, the extension is only allowed to start videos automatically with the sound off, so you’ll need to unmute the player manually each time you preview a new record. • This is an ongoing effort: edge cases are being identified and reduced over time while keeping the trade-offs under control.
