To free up memory, Chrome silently unloads tabs it thinks you are not using and reloads them the moment you click back. With a single click it tells Chrome that your tabs must not be automatically discarded, so they stay exactly as you left them, for as long as you leave them open. HOW IT WORKS Chrome exposes a per-tab setting called "auto discardable". When it is switched off for a tab, Chrome's memory-saving logic skips that tab entirely. This extension flips that switch for every tab you have open, and it keeps doing so automatically as you open new tabs, navigate to new pages, or restore tabs after a restart. There is nothing to configure and nothing to remember: turn it on once and forget about it. You can verify that it is working at any time. Open a new tab, type chrome://discards in the address bar, and look at the "Auto Discardable" column. Every row will show a cross, meaning Chrome has been told to leave that tab alone. Click the toolbar icon (you may need to pin it from the extensions menu). 3. Press the power button so the status reads "Enabled". 4.
