Overview
Disables autoplay of all HTML5 audio and video
THIS EXTENSION IS CURRENTLY UNMAINTAINED; Please see GitHub for the latest news: https://github.com/Eloston/disable-html5-autoplay/blob/master/README.md ====================== Disable HTML5 Autoplay disables HTML5 audio and video autoplaying. In addition to removing the HTML autoplay attribute from media elements, Disable HTML5 Autoplay also hooks into the media's JavaScript API. This allows for restrictions on media control and simulation of expected behavior to ensure that all pages behave normally. This extension has been working amazingly, always! I'm only uninstalling now as it is obsolete, and has been replaced by a new version, which I have now installed. The new version is called Disable HTML5 Autoplay (Reloaded): https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/disable-html5-autoplay-re/cafckninonjkogajnihihlnnimmkndgf

I think the most useful extension on Chrome if you use Youtube. Before I have this extension, it happened often that during a meeting I click a link youtube and the video starts. I cannot believe there is no way to disable this natively on Youtube. No the autoplay button at the bottom of each video does not work: it is only to avoid to play the next following video. @Google: do you use YouTube? Does not look so...
