Disable Autoplay for YouTube™

Brilliant, exactly what I wanted! Yes, it does show a black screen, but it plays when you click on it.

Works exactly how it should be.. Very user-friendly and straight to the point, no fluff and no useless features. Definitely a keeper extension for me 💎 One thing I'm hoping to be fixed in the near future though is when you click a new video while in miniplayer mode, it plays automatically instead of showing a black screen (which it does when you go back to regular viewing mode). But overall, pretty neat extension!

As of March 2024, this extension works perfectly for Chrome Version 122.0.6261.69. I needed a simple extension to pause videos that I often leave open in multiple tabs, which tend to play simultaneously upon restarting Chrome. The extension immediately pauses the video during the loading of the YouTube page, displaying it as a black rectangle. This does not work. A pity as an extension like this would be great. Better of course would be for Youtube to restore the option to turn off autoplay but they won't for reasons that they refuse to explain. Which suggests the basest motives.

It works well, but it still plays a fraction of a second of the video when buffering is enabled. With it disabled, the video is a black screen instead of showing the video in a paused state. Please fix these 2 problems and then it'll be perfect.

I don't know about other reviewers but as of 22/12/2023, this extension works. It just doesn't have a play button or anything. The video appears blank with no play icon but you click on it once or twice and it plays the video. But that's a minor defect, so I am going to overlook it and give this a 5/5!

Finally found this! <3 Love it. Yeah... it sometimes requires pressing on the video a bunch of times to get it to play, but a small price to pay for it actually doing what I want! Finally!!! Also seemingly sometimes doesn't work with playlists, but I'm happy with it.
