Overview

Pick any element to lock its text direction (RTL/LTR). Rules persist across reloads and support nested iframes.

Direction Picker lets you fix text direction on any website, one element at a time. If a page mixes Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, or Urdu with English and something renders the wrong way — a comment box, a chat bubble, a table cell, a code block — point at it and lock it to RTL or LTR. The rule sticks. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open the popup and start picking mode. 2. Hover elements on the page — they highlight as you go. 3. Hold Ctrl to preview how each direction will look. 4. Click to save. Press Esc to cancel. Pick the same element again to toggle its direction. No duplicates. WHAT IT'S GOOD FOR - Reading RTL content on sites built LTR-first (and vice versa). - Fixing single misaligned elements without breaking the rest of the page. - Forcing direction inside embedded widgets, comment systems, and chats. - Authors, translators, and localization QA who need to spot-check layout. FEATURES - Per-element rules scoped to host, frame path, and selector. - Works inside nested iframes, including cross-origin frames. - Re-applies automatically on SPA navigation and dynamic re-renders. - Popup lists all rules for the current site — highlight, edit, disable, or delete any of them. - Edit the selector, label, and direction inline with auto-save. - Export and import all rules as JSON for backup or moving between machines. - UI available in Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, English, French, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Persian, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish, and Urdu. PERMISSIONS — WHY EACH ONE - storage: save your rules locally. - activeTab: act on the page you're currently viewing. - scripting: inject the picker overlay and apply direction. - host access: rules can target any site you choose to pin elements on. The extension only runs on regular web pages (http, https, file). It does not run on chrome:// pages, the Web Store, or the new-tab page. No accounts. No tracking. No network calls. Rules live in your browser.
