DirectExtract
Overview
Unzips ZIP downloads straight into a folder while they download. The archive never takes up disk space, and there's no unzip step.
DirectExtract unzips ZIP files while they download. When Chrome starts downloading a ZIP, DirectExtract pauses it and asks whether you'd like to extract it instead. Pick a folder and the files go straight there. The ZIP itself is never saved, so a 10 GB archive doesn't need 10 GB of extra free space, and there's nothing to unzip afterwards. Before you extract • See what's inside first: the folders, how many files there are and how big they are. • Programs and scripts such as .exe and .bat files are marked, so you know what you're about to put on your computer. • Every file is checked as it's written. When a ZIP can't be extracted Some sites don't let a download be read in parts, and some ZIPs are damaged or too unusual to extract safely. DirectExtract tells you why and lets the download finish normally. A few file types, such as .dll and .ini, can't be created by any Chrome extension. DirectExtract keeps those in a small ZIP next to the other files, so you can unzip them yourself. You can always pick "Download normally" instead. Price Free for ZIPs up to 1 GB. Your first larger ZIP is free too. A one-time $9.99 license removes the limit, with no subscription. Privacy DirectExtract only reads the ZIP downloads you choose to extract, from sites you've allowed. Your files stay on your computer. The only thing it sends anywhere is your license key, to Polar, the payment provider, which checks that it's valid.
