DinoWall: Site Blocker for Focus
Overview
Closes the sites you block during a DinoWall focus session. Works with the DinoWall desktop app for Windows.
DinoWall helps you stay focused. Start a focus session in the DinoWall desktop app for Windows, and this extension closes the websites you chose to block (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit and any site you add) until the session ends. A calm "You're focusing" page with a countdown replaces the blocked site. IMPORTANT: this extension needs the free DinoWall desktop app for Windows. It does nothing on its own. Download the app at https://dinowall.netlify.app How it works - You pick the sites to block in the DinoWall app. - When a focus session starts, the app tells the extension (over a local connection on your own computer). - If you open a blocked site during the session, the tab is closed. If it is the only tab in the window, it turns into the "You're focusing" page instead, so the window stays open. - When the session ends, the sites open normally again. Privacy - Your browsing history and the pages you visit are never sent anywhere. - The extension only compares the address of each tab with your block list, on your computer. - It talks only to the DinoWall app on your own computer (127.0.0.1). No accounts, no ads, no analytics. Works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera and other Chromium browsers. Also available for Firefox.
