Overview
Dim any site with a global slider or per-site levels. Quick lock, scheduling, smooth fade.
Dimly is a simple, lightweight screen-dimmer that makes bright websites easier on your eyes. Instead of adjusting your monitor or system settings, Dimly adds a soft, adjustable dimming layer on top of the sites you visit. It works on most websites and gives you fine control over page brightness in a way dark-mode themes can’t. WHY PEOPLE USE DIMLY • Reduce eye strain on bright or white-background pages • Browse comfortably at night or in dark rooms • Helpful for light sensitivity, glare, and migraines • A clean alternative to dark mode on sites that don’t support it FEATURES • Global dimmer: One slider adjusts brightness across all tabs • Per-site control: Save different dimming levels for each site and lock them • Scheduling: Set custom times or create a nighttime routine with smooth fades • Quick toggle: Turn dimming on or off instantly • Works on most sites: Chrome blocks internal pages such as chrome:// and the Web Store • Lightweight and private: No ads, no tracking, no analytics • Open source: Full code available on GitHub GitHub: https://github.com/Brian-S-Poon/dimly HOW DIMLY HELPS Dimly gives you consistent, comfortable brightness on every website, even pages that don’t offer a dark theme. It’s a universal, low-impact solution for users who struggle with bright screens or want more control than standard dark-mode extensions provide. PRIVACY Dimly does not collect, sell, or share personal data. All brightness levels, per-site settings, and schedules stay inside your browser. Nothing leaves your device.
