Overview
Double-click any word to see its definition. Reliable, free, no API keys.
Dictionary on Click shows a definition right on the page when you double-click a word. No new tab, no copy-paste into another site, no sign-up. How it works Double-click any word while you read A small bubble appears with the meaning, part of speech, and pronunciation Open the toolbar popup for the full entry, copy, share, or hear the word spoken Why install it Keep reading articles, docs, and forums without losing your place Actually useful for hard words: Meanings are grouped by part of speech, so words like "set" or "run" are easier to read Works when APIs are flaky: Wiktionary is tried first, with fallbacks to Free Dictionary API and Datamuse Feels fast: Definitions show up quickly; optional information loads later Free with no API key: Public dictionary sources, no paid plan, no account Optional extras (beta) Turn these on in the popup or Options if you want them: Translations: word equivalents in another language (from Wiktionary) Synonyms & antonyms: related words under the definition Both are off by default and marked beta because coverage varies by word and language.
