Dictation for Netflix
Overview
Hear one line at a time and type it out. See which sounds you keep missing.
Train your English listening while you watch Netflix. Plenty of extensions help you read subtitles. This one does the opposite. It hides them, plays one line at a time, and asks you to type what you heard. ■ How it works 1. Play something on Netflix with English subtitles 2. Click "Start dictation" on the screen 3. It replays one line, starting from where you were watching 4. Type what you heard and press Enter ■ What makes it different • It tells you what you missed Not just "wrong". Your mistakes are sorted into contractions (would've), function words (a / the / of), endings (-s, -ed) and vocabulary — so you can see which kind of sound keeps slipping past you. • Hints come one letter at a time Stuck on a word? Each press fills in one more letter, from the start. Miss the same word twice and the answer opens underneath it. • You are never stuck If you really cannot hear it, move on. Skipped lines still count toward your diagnosis. • It adds up The more you use it, the clearer the picture gets. The session report shows your patterns over time and the words you miss most often. ■ Privacy There is no server. Nothing is collected. Your practice history stays in your browser and never leaves your device. ■ What you need • A Netflix subscription • Something with English subtitles Netflix is a trademark of Netflix, Inc. This extension is not affiliated with Netflix, Inc.
