Overview

Visual bookmarks and speed dial tiles on every new tab. Dials are Chrome bookmarks, so they sync across your devices.

🎯 Dialdeck — your new tab, as a grid of visual bookmarks Dialdeck replaces the new tab page with a clean grid of visual bookmarks. Every tile is a real Chrome bookmark, which means your speed dial travels with you: sign in on another computer and the same dials are already there. No account, no server, no sync layer to configure — the bookmark manager you already have does the work. This is a full Manifest V3 rebuild. The thumbnail engine was rewritten from scratch, a dark theme was added, and the old Chrome Apps feature and its sensitive permissions were removed. It is the version people kept asking for. ✨ FEATURES 🔖 Visual bookmarks — a grid of speed dial tiles instead of an empty new tab page 🔄 Real bookmark sync — dials live in your Chrome bookmarks and follow your profile 🖼️ Reliable thumbnails — large favicon tiles and letter tiles that always render 📸 Snapshots on demand — capture a page preview when you ask, never in the background 🎨 Custom images — use your own artwork for any tile, with no file size cap 🌙 Dark theme — light, dark, or follow your system 📁 Folders — group dials into folders and nest them as deep as you like ✋ Drag and drop — reorder tiles and drop them into folders ➕ Quick add — add the current page from the toolbar or the right-click menu ⭐ Most visited — pull suggestions straight from your browsing history ⚙️ Layout control — columns, tile size, titles on or off, custom background 🔒 No tracking — no analytics, no network calls, nothing leaves your browser 🎯 WHO IT IS FOR 👩‍💻 Developers who keep twenty docs and dashboards one click away 📚 Researchers and students juggling sources across several projects 🛒 Shoppers and deal hunters watching a short list of sites 🏢 Teams that live inside a handful of internal tools 🧑‍🎨 Anyone who wants a start page that looks like theirs 🛠️ HOW IT WORKS 1️⃣ Install and open a new tab — your dial grid is there 2️⃣ Click the plus tile, the toolbar icon, or right-click any page to add it 3️⃣ Drag tiles to reorder, or drop one onto a folder to file it 4️⃣ Right-click a tile to edit its title, address, or thumbnail 5️⃣ Open preferences to set columns, tile size, theme, and background 🚀 WHY THIS ONE Most speed dial extensions build a private store for your tiles, so your grid is stranded in one browser. Dialdeck writes to the bookmark tree instead. Edit a dial here and it changes in the bookmark manager; edit it there and the grid follows. Nothing is locked in, and nothing is lost if you stop using it. The permissions tell the same story. There is no access to your browsing on every site, no extension management, and no analytics endpoint. Favicons are resolved locally by the browser. Page previews happen only when you click capture, on the page you are looking at. 📝 USE CASES 💼 A work folder of internal tools and a separate folder for everything else 🎓 One folder per course, one tile per reading list 📰 A morning row of news sites you actually open 🎬 Streaming services as artwork tiles instead of text links 🔧 Staging, production, and docs for the project you are shipping 💡 TIPS 🔤 Turn off page previews if you prefer clean letter tiles everywhere 🖱️ Ctrl-click a folder to open it in place without losing your spot 📐 Drop the column count for larger tiles on a small laptop screen 🎨 Set a custom background image to make the page yours 📤 Export your settings before switching machines — dials come across on their own Install Dialdeck and get a new tab worth opening.
