Dial & Digest — New Tab, Speed Dial & News Feed
Overview
New tab dashboard: speed dial shortcuts, live RSS news feed, clock, search bar, custom backgrounds.
★ SPEED DIAL Add shortcuts to your favorite sites with one click, or right-click any page or link in Chrome to save it instantly. Drag tiles to reorder them, and pick a custom icon if you don't like the auto-detected one. Shortcuts are stored as regular Chrome bookmarks, so they sync across your devices automatically. ★ NEWS FEED A clean grid of headlines from NASA, TechCrunch, and Hacker News out of the box. Add any RSS feed you like from Settings → Manage sources, reorder, edit, or remove sources anytime, and switch between them without losing your scroll position. ★ CUSTOM BACKGROUND Pick from preset dark colors, upload your own photo, or fetch a random one — with optional grayscale/blur filters and independently adjustable overlay darkness and tile opacity. ★ BACKUP, YOUR WAY Settings sync automatically across Chrome installs on the same Google account. Want to move to a different browser, or just keep a manual backup? Export everything — settings, background photo, shortcuts, and news sources — to a single file, and import it anywhere. ★ PRIVACY FIRST Dial & Digest has no backend server. Every request goes straight from your browser to the site you're actually asking for (a news source, a favicon, a background photo) — nothing is collected, logged, or sent anywhere by the developer.
