Retzos JDE Helper - Finance
Overview
Retzos finance tool for JDE EnterpriseOne: manual payments and AR receipts with on-screen help, GL codes on vouchers, journal checks
# Chrome Web Store – JDE Helper (Default build) What to upload, what to type into each Developer Dashboard tab, and the order to do it in. First submission: `Distribution/Default V1.3/` (the Default V1.2 build plus icons, version `1.3`, and the fallback server IP corrected to `192.168.60.95`). Published 2026-10-20. First update: `Distribution/Default V1.4/` (V1.3 plus the folder launcher with two link cards, Yum calendar `http://localerp:3502/` and Store list `http://localerp:3100/store/`, built 2026-10-26). The texts below are V1.4's; see "Updating later" for the V1.4 upload. ## Files | What | Where | |------|-------| | Upload zip (Package tab) | `dist/JDE-Helper-Default-V1.4-store.zip` (built from `Distribution/Default V1.4/`; `manifest.json` at the zip root). The first upload was `dist/JDE-Helper-Default-V1.3-store.zip`. | | Store icon 128×128 | `dist/store-assets/store-icon-128.png` (same file as `Distribution/Default V1.3/icons/icon128.png`) | | Screenshot 1280×800 | `dist/store-assets/screenshot-1-1280x800.png` – an illustration of both features on a simplified grid with made-up data (rendered by `tools/store-assets/make_screenshot.py`; `make_icons.py` beside it renders the icons; both need Pillow + `server/admin/fonts`). A real capture from `https://jde.retzos.com` can be added later, with supplier names and amounts blurred. | | Small promo tile 440×280 (optional) | `dist/store-assets/promo-tile-440x280.png` | | Privacy policy | `docs/store/privacy-policy.md` – hosted on the user's GitHub account **tlee-retzos** (2026-10-19) as a public repo `retzos-jde-helper-privacy`, file `privacy-policy.md`; the Privacy tab URL is `https://github.com/tlee-retzos/retzos-jde-helper-privacy/blob/main/privacy-policy.md`. Edit the file there when the policy changes (same URL). The repo for this project has no GitHub remote. | Rebuild the zip after any change to the folder: ``` python - <<'EOF' import zipfile, os root, out = "Distribution/Default V1.4", "dist/JDE-Helper-Default-V1.4-store.zip" with zipfile.ZipFile(out, "w", zipfile.ZIP_DEFLATED) as z: for d, _, files in os.walk(root): for f in sorted(files): p = os.path.join(d, f); z.write(p, os.path.relpath(p, root).replace(os.sep, "/")) EOF ``` ## Before the first upload (Account tab, once) 1. Verify the contact email. 2. Publisher display name: `Retzos Group Finance` (keep "Retzos" in it). 3. Trader status: an internal, free tool – Non-trader is the usual answer; the choice is a legal one and is yours. 4. Turn on 2-Step Verification on the Google account used for the dashboard. The Publish button stays disabled without it. ## Store listing tab - **Title** – from the manifest `name`: `Retzos JDE Helper` (the company name is in every store-facing name, the user's rule 2026-10-19). - **Summary** – from the manifest `description`, which the upload rejects above 132 characters (the V1.2 text was 222 and failed on 2026-10-19): `Retzos finance tool for JDE EnterpriseOne: checks journal Company, shows voucher GL Codes, opens the Yum calendar and store list.` (V1.3's was `Retzos finance tool for JDE EnterpriseOne: flags journal lines whose Company differs from the header, shows GL Codes on vouchers.`) - **Detailed description**: ``` JDE Helper is an internal tool for the Retzos Group finance team. It works only on the company's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne web client (jde.retzos.com). What it does - Journal Entry: outlines grid lines whose Company differs from the document's header company, and blocks OK while a mismatch is shown, so a journal cannot be saved against the wrong company by mistake. - Voucher Approval and JE Redistribution: shows each voucher's GL code (the F0911 object account) next to the voucher, looked up from the company's own JDE Helper server. - A folder docked to the right edge of the JDE window opens two company pages in a new tab: the Yum calendar and the store list (both on the company's internal server). - Popup switches turn the two checks on or off and show or hide the folder. The extension is distributed by link to company staff and is of no use outside the company network. ``` - **Category**: Productivity → Workflow & Planning (or Tools). - **Language**: English. - **Store icon**: `dist/store-assets/store-icon-128.png`. - **Screenshots**: at least one, 1280×800 (or 640×400). Promo tiles are optional. - **Official URL / Homepage**: leave blank. ## Privacy tab - **Single purpose**: `Helps company finance staff work in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne: journal entry company check, voucher GL code display, and quick links to the company's internal calendar and store list.` - **Permission justifications**: - `storage` – `Stores the popup's on/off switches and the position of the folder on the JDE page.` - `https://jde.retzos.com/*` – `The company's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne web client. The content scripts read the journal and voucher grids there and draw the outlines and GL code chips.` - `http://localerp/*` and `http://192.168.60.95/*` – `The company's JDE Helper server (host name and its IP) on the internal network. The background worker fetches GL codes from it for the vouchers shown on screen.` - **Are you using remote code?** No. - **Data usage** – tick only: `Website content` (voucher identifiers read from the JDE page are sent to the company server). No personal information, no financial information of persons, no authentication data. - **Certifications** – tick all three (no sale, no unrelated use, no creditworthiness use). - **Privacy policy URL** – the public page holding `docs/store/privacy-policy.md`. ## Distribution tab - **Visibility**: Unlisted. No store listing; anyone with the link can install. (After publishing on 2026-10-20 the dashboard read "Published - public" — if Visibility shows Public, switch it to Unlisted on this tab; a visibility change needs no new review.) (Private needs the Google Workspace admin to enable it for the domain – check later if wanted.) - **Payments**: free. - **Regions**: all regions (or Australia only). ## Submit 1. Package tab: upload the zip. Fix any warning the dashboard shows about the manifest. 2. Fill Store listing and Privacy (both must be complete before Submit is enabled). 3. Submit for review. Leave "Publish automatically after review" on. 4. Review usually takes 1–3 days; host permissions on a single internal site are low risk. Approval must be published within 30 days. ## After approval **Published 2026-10-20.** Item ID `hbgmfjcpnoccolkikhflgbjogfnfjkjj`, store page: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hbgmfjcpnoccolkikhflgbjogfnfjkjj 1. Open the item's store link, install it on one PC, and check on JDE: red outlines on a company mismatch, GL code chips on Voucher Approval, the popup switch. 2. Send the link to the team. Each person removes the unpacked "JDE Helper" (loaded from `Documents\JDE Chrome extension`) in `chrome://extensions` before installing from the store, so the extension is not loaded twice. 3. Record the store URL and the hand-over date in `docs/distribution-log.md` and move the Default V1.3 row to "Shipped builds". ## Updating later Bump `version` in `Distribution/Default V1.x/manifest.json` (a new folder per the distribution policy), rebuild the zip, upload it on the item's Package tab, Submit. Users get the update automatically after review. **V1.4 (built and submitted for review 2026-10-26).** Package tab → upload `dist/JDE-Helper-Default-V1.4-store.zip`. Store listing tab → replace the Detailed description with the text above (the Summary comes from the manifest). Privacy tab → replace Single purpose and the `storage` justification with the texts above; no permission was added (opening a page in a new tab needs none) and the data usage answers stay. Update `privacy-policy.md` on GitHub (`tlee-retzos/retzos-jde-helper-privacy`) with `docs/store/privacy-policy.md`. Submit. After approval, check on one PC: the folder on JDE, both links open in a new tab, Coming soon is grey, the popup's Launcher switch hides it. ## Finance item (second store item, 2026-10-26; cards cut to payments and receipts 2026-10-28) A separate item for accountants: `Distribution/Finance V1.0/`. People install either this item or the Default item, never both. Create it with **New item** on the dashboard (same publisher account). - **Upload zip**: `dist/JDE-Helper-Finance-V1.0-store.zip` (same zip script as above, root `Distribution/Finance V1.0`). - **Title**: `Retzos JDE Helper - Finance` (from the manifest). - **Summary** (the manifest `description`, 132 characters — the limit, so no closing full stop): `Retzos finance tool for JDE EnterpriseOne: manual payments and AR receipts with on-screen help, GL codes on vouchers, journal checks` - **Detailed description**: ``` JDE Helper - Finance is an internal tool for the Retzos Group finance team. It works only on the company's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne web client (jde.retzos.com). What it does - Everything in Retzos JDE Helper: the journal Company check, GL codes on vouchers, and quick links to the company's calendar and store list. - Manual payments: records a payment already made to a supplier from the vouchers the accountant selected on Speed Voucher Change, as one unposted payment per payee and bank. - AR receipts: records a customer receipt from the invoices the accountant selected on Speed Invoice Status Change, unposted. Both have an option that stops before the final OK. - A ? in each panel explains the current step on the screen itself; it never acts for you. - Nothing is ever posted: posting stays a manual step in JDE. - A folder at the right edge of the JDE window opens each feature; popup switches turn the checks and the folder on or off. The extension is distributed by link to company staff and is of no use outside the company network. ``` - **Category / language**: as the Default item. **Icon and images are Finance's own** (navy + gold, made by `tools/store-assets/make_finance_assets.py`): store icon `dist/store-assets/finance/store-icon-128.png`, screenshot `dist/store-assets/finance/screenshot-1-1280x800.png` (Manual Payment + the on-screen help, made-up data), small promo tile `dist/store-assets/finance/promo-tile-440x280.png`. The extension icons in `Distribution/Finance V1.0/icons/` are the same design. - **Single purpose**: `Helps company finance staff work in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne: records payments and receipts on the JDE screens (never posting), checks journal companies, shows voucher GL codes, and links to internal company pages.` - **Permission justifications**: - `storage` – `Stores the popup's switches, the folder's position and each panel's options.` - `https://jde.retzos.com/*` – `The company's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne web client. The content scripts read the JDE grids and type into the JDE forms the user asks them to fill.` - `http://localerp/*` and `http://192.168.60.95/*` – as the Default item. - **Remote code**: No. **Data usage**: tick `Website content` (as the Default item). Certifications: all three. - **Privacy policy URL**: the same page (`docs/store/privacy-policy.md` covers both items). - **Visibility**: Unlisted.
