The usual workaround is to retype the formula by hand in Word's equation editor, which takes minutes per formula and introduces its own mistakes. Math to Word puts a small "Word" button on every formula on the page. Click it, paste into Word, and the equation is there — properly typeset, and still editable as an equation.
