A black hole is a mysterious and powerful cosmic object with a gravitational pull so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape it. It appears as a dark, empty region in space, often surrounded by a swirling disk of glowing matter called an accretion disk. This matter is drawn in by the immense gravitational force of the black hole. The event horizon marks the point beyond which escape is impossible. Black holes are formed from the remnants of massive stars that have collapsed under their own gravity, creating a point of infinite density known as a singularity.
