Dex - Download Manager
Overview
Manage Chrome downloads and inspect downloadable resources on the current page.
Dex is a focused download manager for Chrome. It provides a compact in-page panel and a full manager view for monitoring and controlling downloads without opening Chrome's default downloads page for every task. Use Dex to: - View active, completed, failed, and interrupted Chrome downloads. - Pause, resume, cancel, retry, remove, and start downloads. - Open a completed file, show it in its folder, or copy its source URL. - Inspect downloadable media and other resources discovered on the current web page. - Start a download from a discovered resource. - Choose download notifications, completion actions, appearance, language, and panel behavior. Dex performs its download and page-resource processing locally in Chrome. It has no analytics, advertising, telemetry, or developer-operated data service. A resource-size check may contact the resource's original host directly; data is not sent to a Dex backend. Dex requests access to HTTP and HTTPS pages because its resource inspector and in-page download panel are designed to work on the page where the user invokes them. Chrome-internal and restricted pages remain unavailable to extensions. Keyboard shortcuts: - Open Dex: Ctrl+Shift+Comma (Control+Shift+Comma on macOS) - Pause all downloads: Ctrl+Shift+Period (Control+Shift+Period on macOS)
