DevLens AI adds a sidebar to GitHub that helps you understand any repository in seconds — no account needed. Open any public repository on github.com and use the DevLens sidebar to: • Summarize the repository — purpose, tech stack, main components, folder layout, auth and database approach, and overall complexity. • Ask questions — chat about the codebase and get answers grounded in the README and file structure. • Generate a README — draft a clean, structured README you can copy. • Detect APIs — list the endpoints and external services the project appears to use. • Draw an architecture diagram — a Mermaid diagram of how the main pieces fit together. • Explain a file — open any file and get a plain-language explanation of what it does. • Explain a function — select or paste code and get its purpose, inputs, outputs, complexity and suggested improvements. How it works DevLens only reads the GitHub page you are on, and only when you click an action. The page content (README, file list, and the current file or selected code) is sent to the DevLens server and processed by Google Gemini to produce the result. Nothing is sold, used for advertising, or used to train AI models.
