Overview

Link WhatsApp sessions with a Passkey through WhatsApp Web.

Device Link Helper is a companion extension for users who need to approve a WhatsApp passkey device-linking request from their dashboard. The extension opens WhatsApp Web only after you start a Passkey linking request from the dashboard. It shows a clear helper window, guides you through the approval steps, and sends the temporary passkey approval response back to the dashboard so the device-linking flow can finish. How to use: 1. Start Passkey linking from your dashboard. 2. Click Open with Browser Extension. 3. Approve the WhatsApp passkey prompt on this computer, or choose Other and approve from your phone. 4. If WhatsApp asks for confirmation on your phone, tap Continue only if you started the request. 5. The helper window closes automatically after linking finishes. Privacy: The extension only runs when you start a linking request. It uses a temporary linking token from your dashboard and the WebAuthn passkey response returned by the browser. This data is sent only to your dashboard's passkey linking endpoint to complete the user-requested device link. Permissions: - scripting: displays the helper overlay and starts the passkey prompt on WhatsApp Web. - tabs: opens and focuses the temporary WhatsApp Web helper window. - storage: stores temporary helper status for the popup. - web.whatsapp.com: required so the passkey prompt runs from the WhatsApp Web origin. - dashboard domain: required to receive the user-started linking token from the dashboard.
