Overview
Lets the AI you chose work in a separate DeskWink tab group of your own browser, on the sites you allow. Needs the DeskWink program.
DeskWink connects the AI app you already use to your own computer. This extension is the optional browser part: it lets that AI open web pages, read them, scroll, click, type and fill in forms for you, in your own Chrome or Edge, where you are already signed in. You stay in control: • The AI works only in a tab group called "DeskWink". Your other tabs do not exist for it. Drag a tab into the group to hand it over, drag it out to take it back at once. • The first time the AI wants a website, the extension asks you: Allow, Allow this time, or Deny. Banks and payment sites, password managers, cloud consoles and web mail are blocked unless you allow them. Local network addresses are never available. • Signing in with a password, deleting, sending, and controls that download a file wait for your approval in the side panel. • Paying, buying, placing an order and sending money are refused when the extension recognises the step (by what the control says, or a form that asks for card details). The AI is stopped and told to ask you to do that step yourself. The extension recognises these by text and form, so it cannot catch every website: do not rely on it as your only safeguard, and keep sites you do not trust on Deny. • The AI can never type into a password field, and uploading files is not available. • When you click or type in a DeskWink tab, the AI pauses. One click gives control back. • "Stop and disconnect" in the toolbar popup takes everything back immediately. Chrome shows its own "is debugging this browser" bar the whole time the AI has the browser. The extension has no servers and no account of its own. It talks only to the free DeskWink command-line program on your computer, through Chrome's Native Messaging. It collects nothing, stores only your site decisions in your browser, and sends nothing anywhere. What you need: 1. The free DeskWink program on your computer: npm install -g @deskwink/cli, then run "deskwink launch" to pair it with your DeskWink account. It connects this extension by itself. 2. Turn on Browser for that computer in your DeskWink settings (app.deskwink.com, Computers). DeskWink starts with the least access, so the browser is off until you turn it on. 3. An AI app connected to your DeskWink account (guides at deskwink.com/docs/connect). DeskWink is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any AI provider or browser vendor; product names are used only to say which apps you can connect.
