DeskDash is a classroom management overlay that lets teachers display learning objectives, daily agendas, bellwork, timers, student name pickers, and a noise-level meter — all from a unified toolbar dock floating on top of any active presentation or web page. CORE TOOLS ■ Objectives Drawer — Display and edit learning targets with auto-numbered bullet entries synced live to your Google Sheet. ■ Agenda Drawer — Present the day's schedule with auto-parsed timestamp badges. Click any item to highlight it for projector display. ■ Bellwork / Do Now — Large-font display of opening activities students can read from across the room. ■ Important Dates — Filtered by the selected date, showing upcoming deadlines and events. Add or remove entries inline. ■ Countdown Timer — Circular SVG ring with visual color stages (blue → amber → red), preset durations (1m–15m), manual MM:SS input, Web Audio alarm, and cross-window sync between overlay and dashboard. ■ Student Name Picker — Rolling animation with ascending-pitch audio and confetti burst. Filter by class period, toggle "exclude already called," and manage your roster directly from the drawer. ■ Noise Level Meter — Segmented VU meter with sensitivity slider. Uses the microphone to display real-time classroom ambient noise levels (mic permission requested on first use only). OVERLAY MODES ■ Persistent Control Dock — A slim, auto-hiding toolbar docked to the edge of any webpage. Click a tool button to slide open a translucent glass-panel drawer over 25-30% of the screen. ■ Cinematic Maximize — Expand any drawer to full-screen for projector use. All cards render at large projector-friendly sizes. ■ Dashboard Tab — A full-featured standalone dashboard with draggable card layout, 7 grid templates (3-column, 2x2, spotlight, focus, bento, split, wide-agenda), 10 theme packs with light/dark mode, and 14 accent colors. ■ Dark Mode — Full dark mode support across dock, drawers, and dashboard. Toggle persists between sessions. GOOGLE SHEETS INTEGRATION All data syncs to your own Google Sheet (DailyPlans, Roster, Deadlines) via Google Sheets API v4. Create a pre-formatted template sheet with one click, or connect an existing spreadsheet. Every edit you make in the overlay writes back to your sheet asynchronously — your data always lives in your Google Drive. PRIVACY-FIRST DESIGN ■ No analytics, no tracking, no third-party servers. ■ Your classroom data stays in your Google Drive. ■ OAuth tokens are used only for the Google Sheets API. ■ The noise meter microphone is accessed only when you click the tool — never on install or in the background.
