Desk Habits Reminder is a lightweight desk-habit dashboard for people who want small, useful everyday/workday reminders without installing a full productivity system. Instead of only sending basic “take a break” alerts, it lets you build your own set of desk habits and control how they work. Create reminders for drinking water, standing up, stretching, posture checks, eye resets, movement breaks, breathing breaks, or anything else that helps you reset during a desk-heavy day. Each habit can have its own schedule, timer, weekly goal, and quick actions, so your reminders feel useful rather than random. ## What makes it useful * Create your own custom desk habits * Set reminders by interval or exact time * Add timers for habits that need a short session, such as stretching or eye resets * Use “Remind now” when you want to trigger a habit manually * Track how many habits you have completed today * See active habits at a glance * Set weekly goals for each habit * View simple stats to understand what you are actually doing * Add optional links to resources, such as a stretch video or breathing exercise * Use light or dark mode * Keep everything simple and local-first ## Why it exists Desk work makes it easy to ignore basic resets. Not because they are complicated, but because they are easy to forget. DHR gives those small habits a visible place in your browser: what is active, what is due, what you have done today, and what you are trying to stay consistent with over the week. It is designed to be practical, quick to use, and easy to adjust as your routine changes. ## Quick start 1. Open the extension. 2. Go to Settings. 3. Add a habit, such as “Drink water”, “Stand and stretch”, “Eye reset”, or “Posture check”. 4. Choose the reminder type and timing. 5. Add a timer or weekly goal if useful. 6. Save it. 7. Use the popup to check your active habits, trigger reminders, and track your day. Start with one or two habits. Add more only when they are genuinely useful. ## Who it is for Desk Habits Reminder is for remote workers, office workers, students, developers, creators, and anyone who spends long periods working at a computer. It is especially useful if you like simple systems, visible progress, and reminders you can actually customise. ## Privacy Desk Habits Reminder stores your habits, reminder settings, theme preference, and completion stats locally in your browser. It does not require an account, does not sell your data, and does not send your habit data to an external server. The optional Ko-fi link only opens an external support page for users who like my work. ## Note Desk Habits Reminder is not medical advice.
