Delegation Doc — SOP & Task Recorder for Virtual Assistants
Overview
Record a browser task once, then hand your VA a clean step-by-step SOP. Screenshots and notes stay on your machine.
Delegation Doc turns a task you already know how to do into a document someone else can follow. Press record, work through the task at your normal pace, press stop. Every click and page load becomes a numbered step with a screenshot, a plain-English instruction, and a yellow marker showing exactly what was clicked. Then edit the wording, reorder or drop steps, blur anything private, and export. Built for business owners who are handing work to a virtual assistant, a new hire, or a contractor — and who have explained the same process one time too many. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open the page where the task starts. 2. Click Start recording (or press Alt+Shift+R). 3. Do the task. The toolbar badge counts your steps as you go. 4. Press Stop. The review page opens with everything in order. 5. Tidy it up and export. WHAT YOU GET - A numbered step for every click and page load - A screenshot of each step, with the clicked button or link ringed in yellow - An instruction written for you: "Click the 'New Invoice' button" - The page title and URL on every step, so nobody has to guess where they are EDIT BEFORE YOU SEND - Rewrite any step's title and instructions - Drag steps into a different order, or move them with the arrow keys - Delete the steps that turned out to be dead ends - Add a note as its own step for the things a click can't show — "check the total matches the PO before you save" - Pause mid-recording when you need to do something that isn't part of the task HIDE WHAT SHOULDN'T BE SHARED Client names, account numbers, salary figures, anything in a screenshot you'd rather not pass on. Drag a box over it and choose blur or a solid block. When you apply it, the hidden pixels are erased from the saved image — not just covered over, so they can't reappear in an export. EXPORT - HTML — one self-contained file, formatted for printing, works offline - PDF — generated on your own computer - Markdown — copy straight into Notion, ClickUp, Google Docs or a task board - Print — straight from the review page YOUR RECORDINGS STAY ON YOUR COMPUTER There is no account, no sign-in, and no server. Delegation Doc makes no network requests at all — screenshots and steps are stored locally in your browser, and the PDF is built on your machine rather than sent anywhere to be rendered. Deleting a recording deletes its screenshots with it. Recording only runs when you start it. Outside a recording, the extension runs no code on any page you visit. GOOD TO KNOW - Chrome blocks all extensions on chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store, so steps there won't have screenshots. - Recording follows the tab you're working in. Background tabs are ignored. - Typed text is not recorded unless you switch it on, and password, one-time code and payment fields are never read. Free, with no limits on recordings or exports.
