ComplyOnSite — Waste & SDS checks

Read linked safety data sheets on Screwfix and Toolstation, download Excel, and check selected UK waste references locally.

Read safety data sheets while choosing products, and look up waste references where you already work. On supported Screwfix and Toolstation product pages, ComplyOnSite adds a quiet “Read this SDS” button when the page links a safety data sheet. The reader shows the product, supplier, hazard and precautionary statements, with the wording and page references read from the PDF. Download an Excel workbook containing Summary, Hazards, Ingredients and Sections sheets. PDF reading and Excel output use the same code as the ComplyOnSite SDS to Excel website tool. Scanned, damaged and password-protected PDFs are reported as unreadable; missing or uncertain text is shown explicitly. “Not found” means the wording was not recognised, not that the product has no hazards. Some supplier links open a document service instead of delivering a PDF. In that case, download the SDS from the supplier and choose the PDF in the reader. ComplyOnSite does not sign in to document services or read their web pages. Select a complete EWC waste code, such as 17 05 03* or 170503, then right-click and choose “Check selected reference with ComplyOnSite”. The result gives its official description, hazardous status and absolute or mirror entry type. A link opens that code in the ComplyOnSite EWC finder. A code identifies an entry; it does not classify a particular load of waste. Select a complete CBDU or CBDL waste-carrier registration number and use the same menu to open an exact-number search in the Environment Agency public register. The register determines the registration status. Partial codes, labelled product references and unrecognised text do not open a result. No account or subscription. No analytics or advertising. The extension sends no data to ComplyOnSite. PDF downloads are made only when you choose to read an SDS and allow access to its specific document host. All extraction and workbook creation happen in your browser. Results are held in the open reader tab and are discarded when it closes; downloaded files stay with you. Automatic page access is limited to www.screwfix.com and www.toolstation.com. Access to the supported SDS file hosts is optional and requested when needed. There is no access to all websites. The selected-text menu works elsewhere without reading those pages in the background.
