Overview

Analyze selected text, readable articles, and supported social posts in the browser.

Defacta helps you inspect web content without leaving the page. Select text on an HTTP or HTTPS page and start Defacta from the toolbar or context menu. On supported pages, you can also analyze a readable article or a single social post. Results stream into the browser side panel as they become ready. Defacta can show: - key claims in the selected text; - possible manipulation techniques; - possible framing and bias signals; - possible pressure or misleading-language cues; - grounded source excerpts for each finding; - independent source checks for all eligible key claims; - a quick "Checked evidence" summary for the checked part of the text; - stored publication context when Defacta has a record for the source domain; - source-text translation when the account has that entitlement. You can return from a finding to its exact passage on the page. You can also copy findings and export a report as Markdown or JSON. Local history is off by default for new installs. You can enable saving and view up to 100 checks from the last 7 or 30 days. Stored originals remain until explicit cleanup; at a limit or migration conflict, saving pauses and History offers a raw local export. Off stops saving without erasing existing records. Cloud history has its own saving consent. Its availability and source-text translation appear in your account. On public commercial plans, Plus includes both. Current interface settings are free. Defacta accepts source text in multiple languages. You can use the interface and report in English, Russian, or Hebrew. Signals are indicators, not proof of intent or falsity. The extension does not show truth scores, confidence scores, severity, or author intent. "Checked evidence" shows grounded coverage separately and scores only conclusive checks. Publication context is a separate verified stored signal. It does not change the evidence stance. An active Defacta account and an internet connection are required.
