What it does Open any article and click the debait button (or right-click → “debait this page”). In a second you get: • An honest title — what the piece actually says, with no hype or curiosity-gap. • A plain summary + the key points. • A clickbait score (0–100) and the manipulative techniques it spotted. • A verdict: is this substantial, thin, or empty — and is it even worth clicking? Preview before you click Hold Alt and hover any link. debait reads the target page and shows the honest title + score in a tooltip — so you can skip the junk without ever opening it. Output can be in any language. Private by design There is no debait server. A page’s text is sent only to the AI provider you configure; your API key and settings stay in your browser, and nothing is ever sent to the developer. The extension requests only the permissions it needs, and it acts only on pages you explicitly debait or hover. Hover previews are rate-limited and respect a daily cap you set, so you won’t accidentally burn through your quota.
