De-AI Text

Remove AI-sounding phrases from text you write. Runs on your computer.

De-AI Text cleans the draft you are writing. It takes out stock AI phrases, stray em dashes, emoji bullets, and bold markdown, then leaves the rest of the sentence alone. Use it in three ways: 1. Right-click a text field, Gmail compose box, LinkedIn editor, or X post and choose "De-AI this text". 2. Focus a field and press Ctrl+Shift+Y (Command+Shift+Y on Mac). 3. Open the popup, paste a draft, then click Clean and Copy. If you have text selected, only the selection is cleaned. If you do not, the whole field is cleaned. A small note appears when it finishes, for example "Cleaned 7 things". What it changes, each of which you can turn off: Em dashes and en dashes between words become a comma or a period, depending on the sentence. Number ranges such as 12–14 stay put. The default is a comma. A built-in list of AI phrases, kept in one JSON file you can edit. "Leverage" and "utilize" become "use". "Furthermore" and "moreover" become "also". Empty replacements delete the phrase. Curly quotes become straight quotes. This is off until you turn it on. Emoji used as bullets, and bold markdown. Double spaces, and spaces sitting before punctuation. Your own phrase and replacement pairs. Free includes 5. Pro removes the limit. URLs, email addresses, and markdown code stay as written. Pro adds a tone pass: Casual (we are → we're) or Professional (we're → we are). "It's" is only expanded when it clearly means "it is".
