Canned Replies

Hi Biuro, the extension does not send emails, nor does it collect emails. Also the extension is called Canned Replies, you mentioned you see "+canned.response" which is not the product name. What you're experiencing is not related to this Chrome extension.

It sounds like you're receiving emails from an address that's using the plus sign alias (as described here: https://gmail.googleblog.com/2008/03/2-hidden-ways-to-get-more-from-your.html) – This is not related to this Chrome extension at all. It's likely the sender of that email is appending that to their email address to denote it's an automated message.

With regards to your problem, it's possible that WhatsApp is stripping new lines from the input. This is likely a limitation of the input field for WhatsApp. Canned Replies inserts it as you have provided it, so if anything is changing about that input it's the website you're using that is changing the input.

Does this happen with the context menu insert or the popup copy/paste method? Or both? At this time, I can only suggest to try the other option.

You mentioned you tried forward slash n, but it's back slash n that indicates a new line. I'm not saying this will work as I have not tested it, but try back slash n instead, though I'm not optimistic it will help.

This permission is optional and only required if you want to use the context menu (right click menu). You don't have to enable that permission and you'll still be able to use the popup and the button embedded in Gmail. Hi Edna, you can click the plus button present in the popup. It'll open the options page where you can add new messages, and edit and delete existing messages.

Hi Spicy Thunder, thanks for the suggestion. I notice the limit you're talking about is the 10 MB total limit but I'm not bumping up against the total limit, it's the limit that is enforced on a per key/value basis, which is a separate limitation, so I don't think this suggestion will help, unless it's undocumented and will remove any limit for a per-key basis as well, but I don't see that defined in the docs. I can give it a try next time in case it works but there's nothing in the docs that says it would. Thanks.
