Media Grabber finds the real audio and video behind a web page and lets you save it in one click — even when the site offers no download button. It also includes a built-in recorder for media that streams and cannot be saved directly. Everything runs locally in your browser. There are no accounts, no tracking, and no servers. Media Grabber is free and open source, built by Matily. WHAT YOU CAN DO Detect media automatically. As a page loads, Media Grabber watches for playable audio and video and lists what it finds, including the source that is actually playing. Download in one click. Files are saved through Chrome's own download manager with a sensible name and the correct extension. Choose your quality. Adaptive streams normally start at a low bitrate, so a naive download gives you a poor copy. Media Grabber reads the stream's manifest and lists every rendition it offers, with the highest quality shown first. Save adaptive streams. Segmented streams (HLS and DASH) are reassembled into a single file with no re-encoding, so nothing is lost. A ready-to-run FFmpeg command is offered for the cases that need one. Download from the right-click menu. Right-click a video and pick what you want without opening the toolbar popup. Record any tab. Capture tab audio, your microphone, or both mixed, in a docked side panel with a live waveform, pause and resume, and a preview before you save. Output is a compact or a lossless audio file. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How do I download a video from a site with no download button? Open the page, start the video, then click the Media Grabber icon. Anything playable that the page loaded appears in the list with a Download button. Why does my downloaded video have no sound? Many streaming sites deliver picture and sound as two separate tracks. Download both entries, then use the merge command the extension copies for you to combine them into one file. Which one should I download when several appear? The list is ranked with the best quality first, and each entry shows its format and size, so the top item is normally the one you want. Can I record audio that is playing in a tab? Yes. Open the recorder side panel, choose tab audio, microphone, or both, then press record. The audio keeps playing normally while it is captured. Does it collect any data? No. Media Grabber has no accounts, no analytics, and no external servers. Everything happens on your device. Is it really free? Yes.
