LinkLyst is a bookmark manager and link organiser for the pages you actually come back to. Save any page, article, video, or link into ordered, named playlists — then reopen it on the site it came from. GOOD FOR - A read-later list for the articles you do not have time for right now. - Video playlists that span sites — a YouTube link, a Vimeo link, and a talk hosted on someone's blog, in one list. - Research collections: one playlist per topic, per project, or per course. - Taming a wall of open tabs — save them, close them, reopen only the ones you need. - Replacing a folder of browser bookmarks with something you can search, filter, and see. WHAT IT DOES - Save the page you are on from the toolbar popup, or right-click a page, link, image, video, or audio URL to save it without opening it first. - Organise saves into named playlists, in the order you choose. Reorder by hand; sorting a view never rewrites your manual order. - Browse a visual gallery of preview images, titles, and domains. - Search everything at once, or inside one playlist, by title, domain, or URL. - Narrow by domain, saved date, preview state, and playlist. Filter state lives in the gallery URL, so Back and Forward work and a filtered view can be bookmarked. - Fix mistakes from a 30-day local Trash: removed items and deleted playlists come back with their order intact. - Edit a saved title, or retry a preview that failed to load. - Export the whole library as clean JSON or as a browser bookmarks HTML file. Restoring a JSON export merges it into your library instead of replacing it. LOCAL FIRST, NO ACCOUNT There is no LinkLyst account, no sign-in, and no LinkLyst server. Your library lives in your browser's own extension storage, and preview screenshots never leave the device. There is no analytics, no telemetry, and no advertising code — nothing is sent to the developer, because there is nowhere for it to be sent. By default LinkLyst also keeps a compact, metadata-only copy of your library in Chrome's own profile storage, so it can come back after a reinstall or appear on another Chrome profile you are signed in to. That copy holds playlist names, URLs, titles, and order only — never screenshots, never preview-image references, never search or filter state, and never anything saved in Incognito. Clear one checkbox to keep everything local, or erase the copy from Chrome outright. Your local library is authoritative: a save is never undone because that copy is off, offline, throttled, or full. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO LinkLyst saves and reopens; it is not a reader and not a player. It never embeds a third-party page and never plays media inside the extension — opening a saved item takes you to the original site in a new tab. There is no feed, no collaboration, and no AI. ABOUT THE WEBSITE-ACCESS WARNING Chrome will warn that LinkLyst can read and change data on all websites. It asks for website access for one reason: to read the title and preview metadata of a URL you asked it to save. A link you right-click is usually not open in any tab, so no narrower permission covers it. Those reads are bounded by a six-second timeout, an allowlist of content types, and hard size caps, and LinkLyst injects nothing into pages and runs no script in page context. The only third-party requests are about a link you saved: an oEmbed lookup for supported YouTube or Vimeo links, a metadata read from the saved page's own site, and an ordinary image request when a stored preview renders. There is no favicon proxy and no remote web font, so nothing is contacted just because the extension is open. ACCESSIBILITY Visible keyboard focus, 40–44 px targets, dialogs that trap and restore focus, live result counts, and keyboard shortcuts — "/" to focus search, Ctrl/Cmd+K for all items, Escape to clear a search or close a surface.
