DBXAuto — Inline autocomplete

Inline writing suggestions and prompted drafts using your ChatGPT plan, local Ollama, or a Groq API key.

DBXAuto helps you keep writing in email, messages, and everyday text fields. Get inline suggestions as you type, or open a compact writing prompt to draft a reply or rewrite selected text. Review the result and decide what to insert. WRITE IN THE FLOW • See suggested continuations at your cursor in supported text fields. • Press Tab to accept a suggestion, Ctrl + Right Arrow to accept one word, or Escape to dismiss it. • Suggestions consider grammar, punctuation, spacing, and sentence casing. ASK FOR A DRAFT • Open the writing prompt with Ctrl + I, or from the extension popup. • Describe what you want to write, or select existing text to rewrite it. • Review and edit the draft, then insert it at your cursor, replace the selection, or copy it. • DBXAuto never sends emails or posts messages for you. MAKE IT SOUND LIKE YOU Adjust tone, formality, warmth, detail, contractions, emoji, English spelling, and capitalization. Add preferred phrases, phrases to avoid, a writing sample, and custom style guidance. CHOOSE YOUR WRITING ENGINE • Ollama: connect directly to the local Ollama app and choose an installed model from a refreshable dropdown. • Groq: connect directly using your own Groq API key and an available model that supports JSON mode. • ChatGPT plan: use eligible plan access through a signed-in Codex CLI and a separately installed Windows helper. Chrome launches the helper automatically when needed. Setup is required for the provider you choose. Ollama requires its app and a downloaded model; extension-origin permission may also need configuring. Groq requires an API key and is subject to Groq pricing and limits. ChatGPT requires Node.js, Codex sign-in, and one-time helper installation. ChatGPT plan eligibility, model access, and usage limits apply. The extension alone does not include an AI model or a hosted generation service. CONTROL WHERE IT RUNS Enable individual websites, pause autocomplete globally or per site, and use Ctrl + Shift + Y to toggle the current website. Chrome lets you customize shortcuts. On macOS, use Command for the main extension shortcuts. COMPACT DARK INTERFACE A small popup, dark settings, and an inline writing panel keep controls close to your work. YOUR WRITING CONTEXT DBXAuto uses context from the active writing field rather than reading the rest of the page or email thread. Automatic suggestions run only on sites you enable; you can also invoke the writing prompt manually. Text and voice preferences are sent to your selected provider. Settings and the Groq API key are stored locally in your Chrome profile. Password and other identified sensitive input fields are excluded, but ordinary message text may still be sensitive. Works with supported standard inputs, textareas, and many contenteditable editors. Some custom editors are unsupported. Suggestions may take several seconds depending on the provider and hardware; review generated text before using it.
