Keeps this browser's reported location consistent with the Day8 VPN region you're connected to.

Day8 Region Sync keeps what websites can read about your location consistent with the Day8 VPN node you are connected to. A VPN changes the address your traffic comes from. It does not change what the browser itself will tell a website when asked. Your time zone, your language, and your geolocation are still answered from your own machine. A site can see a Tokyo exit address beside a device that says it is in London, and treat the two as a contradiction. This extension removes that contradiction. WHAT IT DOES • Reports a location that matches your node. The coordinates, the time zone, and the geolocation API all agree with where your traffic actually leaves. • Gives you a point near the node, not the node's exact centre. The offset is drawn once when you install and stays the same afterwards, so your location is stable for you and different from everyone else on the same node. • Only claims anything while the tunnel is genuinely carrying your traffic. If the app is disconnected, reconnecting, or the site you are on is routed directly, the extension reports your real values rather than a location you are not exiting through. • Protects against WebRTC address leaks, which can reveal your real IP even when everything else is proxied. On by default. • Shows you exactly what sites see. The popup lists the coordinates, the time zone, the language, and every browser API currently being answered for you. When nothing is being claimed, it says so, and says why. WHAT YOU CONTROL • How far the reported point may sit from the node, and how precise the browser claims its fix is. • Whether websites are asked for permission before receiving a location, as they are for any normal site. • Whether the language sent to websites follows the node's region. Off by default: matching can still reveal your real language on requests to other domains, so we do not turn it on for you. • Theme and interface language (English, 简体中文, 繁體中文). REQUIREMENTS This extension is a companion to the Day8 desktop application and does nothing on its own. Install Day8 and connect to a node first; the extension follows the app automatically from then on. Chrome 111 or later. PRIVACY The extension talks to one thing: the Day8 app running on your own computer, over Chrome's native messaging. It has no server of its own, collects no analytics, and never sends your browsing anywhere. It has no account and asks for no personal information.
