Overview

Hides upload dates on YouTube videos older than a period you choose. Unofficial; not affiliated with YouTube.

Have you ever looked at the upload date of a favorite video or song and thought, "Has it really been that long?" For people who want to choose videos by their content, not by how long ago they were uploaded. Date Hider for YouTube hides only the upload date of videos published before a period you set, on YouTube in desktop Chrome. Videos, titles, thumbnails, view counts and channel names are not changed. ■ Features ・Only the upload date of videos older than your period is hidden. Dates of newer videos stay visible. ・Set the period with a number and a unit. The default is "hide dates 1 year or more ago". Weeks: 2–4 · Months: 1–11 · Years: 1 or more ・Turn it ON/OFF anytime. When OFF, hidden upload dates return to normal immediately. ・Changes apply to open YouTube pages without reloading. ・Text that cannot be reliably identified as an upload date is left visible. ■ How to use 1. Click the extension icon in the toolbar to open the settings. 2. Choose ON/OFF with "Hide upload dates". 3. Choose the number and unit of the period. Your input is saved automatically. Japanese dates (such as "2 年前") are supported too. A date is hidden only when it is certain that the elapsed time is at least your period. ■ Privacy and permissions ・The only permission used is storage, and the only site accessed is https://www.youtube.com/*. ・Your settings (ON/OFF, and the number and unit of the period) are saved only in your browser. ・The extension does not connect to any external server and does not collect browsing history or other personal information. ■ Not supported Shorts, channel pages, playlists, comments, and dates shown when the description is expanded. Date formats in languages other than English and Japanese cannot be identified, so they are left visible. ■ Disclaimer This extension is an independent, unofficial project.
