DataKit – Apify Scraping Tools
Overview
AI data agent in your sidebar: ask for web data in plain English, get spreadsheets. Integrates with Apify and AI tools.
DataKit brings an intelligent data assistant right into your browser sidebar. Turn any public webpage or data table into a clean, exportable spreadsheet by simply describing what you need in plain English. Whether you need to collect product pricing, monitor directory listings, track web updates, or extract tables from multi-page articles, DataKit coordinates direct browser parsing and cloud scraping tools to deliver structured datasets in seconds. KEY FEATURES ✦ Natural Language Extraction Ask for the data you want in everyday language. DataKit analyzes the active webpage, identifies structured content, and extracts relevant fields into an organized table with zero coding required. ✦ Direct In-Browser Table & Content Capture Quickly parse HTML tables, product grids, listings, and text blocks from the webpage you are currently viewing. DataKit cleans and formats the results on your machine for instant preview. ✦ Pre-Built Extraction Recipes Run ready-to-use workflows for common web tasks. Save your frequent extraction steps as reusable recipes so you can repeat them on any matching site with a single click. ✦ Instant Data Filtering & Exporting Inspect your extracted data directly in the sidebar. Use lightweight instant filters to narrow down results by numeric values, text matches, or ratings. Export datasets in CSV, Excel (XLSX), JSON, or JSONL formats ready for analysis. ✦ Cloud Scraper Integration For complex, multi-page, or JavaScript-heavy websites, DataKit can coordinate with cloud scrapers via Apify. You always see upfront run details, parameter settings, and cost confirmations before any cloud task starts. ✦ Scheduled Monitors & Change Alerts Set recurring background checks on web sources. DataKit monitors for updates at your chosen interval and notifies you when new items appear or data values change. ✦ Local-First Privacy & Security Your data stays yours. Extracted datasets and browsing context remain stored on your local device. DataKit does not include third-party tracking or behavioral analytics, and your private API keys are kept securely in local browser storage. HOW TO USE 1. Click the DataKit icon in your browser toolbar or press Alt+Shift+K to open the sidebar. 2. Navigate to any webpage containing data you want to collect. 3. Type what you need (for example: "Extract the table on this page with price and title") or pick a pre-built recipe. 4. Preview your structured table in the sidebar and export it directly to CSV or Excel. PERMISSIONS & PRIVACY TRANSPARENCY • Storage: Saves your personal preferences, local recipes, and encrypted API keys on your machine. • Side Panel: Displays the data assistant alongside your browser tabs without blocking your view. • Active Tab & Scripting: Reads page structure and tables on the tab you are viewing when you request data extraction. • Host Permissions (<all_urls>): Allows the assistant to inspect public pages you ask it to extract data from across different websites. • Alarms & Notifications: Runs scheduled monitors and alerts you when long-running extraction jobs finish. DataKit operates on a Bring-Your-Own-Key (BYOK) model for external AI and scraping services. Your keys and data are never sold or sent to third-party data brokers.
