This extension automatically blocks attempts to load data:text/html URLs in Chrome by redirecting them to a custom, humorous warning page. These types of URLs can be used to display arbitrary HTML content directly in the browser, and are commonly exploited by students and children to bypass school content filters or parental controls. They can also pose a security risk by being used in phishing or malware schemes. By detecting and intercepting navigation to data:text/html pages, this extension helps enforce safer browsing environments in educational and supervised settings. It does so using the webNavigation permission to monitor tab activity and the tabs permission to redirect the navigation safely to a local internal page.
