Overview

View, search, fold, sort, and inspect XML, JSON, YAML, CSV, and TSV files directly in your browser.

Data Lens turns structured-data pages and files into a fast, readable workspace directly in Chrome. Open XML, JSON, YAML, CSV, or TSV without copying the data into another website or launching a desktop application. Click the Data Lens toolbar button on a supported response to display its original content. For XML, that means seeing the real source rather than the extra markup added by Chrome's built-in XML viewer. You can also choose a local file, paste text, or drag and drop a document into the viewer. Data Lens does not run on pages until you invoke it. ✨ Features: • Syntax highlighting for XML, JSON, and YAML • Line numbers and folding for nested source sections • CSV and TSV table views with virtualized rows • Full-table sorting, including large-file sorting • Reorder, hide, and restore table columns • Multi-term filtering with a different highlight color for each term • Filter or highlight raw source without losing context • Automatic format detection with a manual format selector • Light and dark themes • Download the original document at any time • Incremental, disk-backed handling for very large files 🔒 Privacy is built into the workflow. Structured-data contents are parsed locally in the extension and are not uploaded to Data Lens or an external parsing service. Large documents use temporary, origin-private browser storage so the viewer does not need to hold the entire file or render every row at once. 🚀 The free version opens supported files up to 2 MB. App Pass unlocks searching and multi-term highlighting, formatted copying, and documents up to 1 GB. An App Pass subscription is optional; the core viewer remains usable without one.
