Dark Genius — Universal Dark Theme gives bright websites a comfortable, intelligent dark appearance automatically. Unlike simple color-inversion extensions, Dark Genius intelligently adapts page backgrounds, text, borders, controls, dashboards, and supported web content while working to preserve websites that already provide their own dark theme. AUTOMATIC DARK MODE Dark Genius begins working automatically after installation on supported HTTP and HTTPS websites. There is no need to enable dark mode separately on every website. SMART DARK-THEME DETECTION Websites and web applications that already provide an effective dark appearance can remain in their native theme. Dark Genius evaluates the page before applying conversion and can re-evaluate sites that switch themes after loading. Dark Genius includes compatibility logic designed to avoid unnecessary double-darkening when an application already controls its own dark presentation. LOCAL-FIRST PRIVACY Dark Genius does not require an account, subscription, or cloud service. Your preferences are stored locally in your browser. The extension does not include advertising or analytics and does not maintain a cloud database of your browsing history. Dark Genius requires access to regular websites because changing a page's appearance requires reading and modifying its styling. It uses this access for its dark-theme functionality. NO REMOTE EXECUTABLE CODE The theme engine and interface code are packaged locally with the extension. SUPPORTED BROWSING Dark Genius works on normal HTTP and HTTPS websites. Browser-protected pages such as the Chrome Web Store, Chrome settings pages, extension pages, and some built-in viewers cannot be modified by extensions.
