Features • Renders .md / .markdown files opened from your computer (file://) and raw Markdown URLs on the web • GitHub Flavored Markdown: tables, task lists, strikethrough and autolinks • Table of contents sidebar that follows your reading position, and link anchors on every heading • Syntax highlighting for ~40 common languages, with a Copy button on every code block • Light, dark or automatic theme; adjustable font size and content width • Raw source toggle and collapsible YAML front matter • "Open a Markdown file" page: pick or drag & drop a file — it re-renders automatically every time you save it • Fixes garbled accents when Chrome guesses the wrong encoding for UTF-8 files without a BOM • Safe by design: HTML inside Markdown is sanitized (DOMPurify) and rendered pages cannot run scripts • English and Vietnamese interface Privacy Readown collects no data, makes no network requests of its own and contains no remote code. Your settings are stored with Chrome sync storage only.
