Your audio and keys never pass through third-party servers. HOW TO USE 1. Click the Nativra extension icon in your browser toolbar. 2. Enter your free Google Gemini API key and select your preferred target language and voice. 3. Open any video or audio playback tab in your browser. 4. Click "Start Live Dubbing" to begin instant voice dubbing and bilingual subtitles. 5. Click "📋 Copy" (or press C) to copy subtitles/lyrics to your clipboard, click any word to capture it to your study list, or use A/S/D to shadow and replay lines. 6. Open the extension popup to view and copy all captured words. PRIVACY & SECURITY Nativra operates on a Bring-Your-Own-Key (BYOK) architecture. Your audio stream is processed directly between your browser and the Google Gemini API using secure, end-to-end WebSocket communication. No audio recordings, browsing history, or private data are ever tracked, logged, or stored on external intermediary servers. PERMISSIONS • "tabCapture" — Required to capture and translate audio from the active media tab when you start dubbing. • "offscreen" — Required to manage low-latency audio processing without freezing or slowing down your open tabs. • "storage" — Stores your language preferences, volume levels, API key, and captured vocabulary locally on your device. • "activeTab" & "scripting" — Injects the floating subtitle HUD and keyboard shadowing controls only onto the specific tab where you activate the extension. TESTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR REVIEWERS: 1. Immediate 1-Click Voice Dubbing Verification (No Setup / No API Key required): - Click the Nativra extension icon in the Chrome toolbar to open the popup. - Under "Language & Voice", click the button: "🔊 Test Voice Dubbing (Sample)". - You will immediately hear speech synthesis in the selected target language speaking aloud through your device audio. - Adjust the "AI Dubbed Voice" volume slider or change the "Target Language" dropdown to hear it adapt instantly. 2. Live Video Playback & Audio Ducking Verification: - Navigate to any public video on the web with closed captions enabled (or HTML5 video). - Click the extension icon and click "Start Live Dubbing" (or "Activate Starter HUD"). - When subtitles appear, Nativra's audio synthesis engine speaks the caption lines aloud and ducks (lowers) the video audio volume in real time. - Click the "🔊 Voice: ON" button in the floating HUD header to toggle voice dubbing on/off at any time. 3. Optional Bring-Your-Own-Key (BYOK) Gemini Live Mode: - If you wish to test speech-to-speech AI dubbing via Google Gemini Live, paste a free Gemini API key into the "BYOK Google Gemini Key" field and click "Test Connection".
