CyBox AI Guardian

Detects sensitive prompts and file uploads on allowlisted AI web tools at submission only. Prompt and file content are never sent.

CyBox AI Guardian is a browser extension by CyBox Security that helps organizations reduce the risk of sensitive data being shared with web-based AI tools. The extension runs only on allowlisted AI websites and scans prompts and supported file uploads locally in the browser when a user submits content or uploads a file. CyBox does not receive prompt text, file contents, or raw secret values. Nothing is sent unless a sensitive pattern is detected and the extension is configured with your organization’s CyBox Guardian token and work email. When sensitive data is detected, the extension may show a warn-only alert and send detection metadata to CyBox Guardian, including pattern type, non-reversible cryptographic fingerprint, file basename, file type, file size, AI product/domain, severity, timestamp, and optional Allowed/Denied review outcome. CyBox AI Guardian is designed for security and governance teams that need visibility into sensitive-data risk across AI tool usage without collecting raw prompt or file content. It is typically deployed by IT or security teams through Chrome Enterprise policy.
