Overview

Gmail is ending "Send mail as". Keep sending from your own domain inside Gmail, through your own email provider.

Gmail is ending "Send mail as" for third-party addresses in January 2027. If you receive mail for you@yourdomain.com in Gmail (via Cloudflare Email Routing, ImprovMX or your registrar's forwarding) and reply using "Send mail as", that setup is about to lose its sending half. CustomFrom keeps it working without moving your email anywhere. HOW IT WORKS • Connect an email provider you control: Resend, Amazon SES, Postmark or Mailgun. Most have a free tier. • Add your address and API key. Keys are stored only in your browser. • In Gmail, choose your address in the new From bar and hit Send. IT HANDLES THE DETAILS • Attachments are sent in full, even if you hit Send right away • Pasted screenshots arrive as inline images • Replies carry the right headers, so they stay in the same conversation, with quoted history and its images • A copy of every message is BCC'd back to your Gmail • When you reply, the address the email was sent to is picked automatically • Add as many addresses and domains as you like PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your messages go straight from your browser to your own provider. CustomFrom has no servers that see your email, and it uses no analytics or tracking. PRICING Free for 7 days, counted from the first message you send from your own address, so setup time doesn't count. No card required. After that it's $15 once for a lifetime license that covers up to 5 browsers, with no subscription. NOTES • Works with addresses on domains you own. Addresses like @outlook.com or @yahoo.com can't be used, because providers only send for domains you can verify. • Works in Gmail on the web in Chrome and Edge on desktop. It doesn't work in the Gmail mobile apps. • Leave the From bar on "Gmail" and messages are sent by Gmail as usual. • CustomFrom is not affiliated with Google. Gmail is a trademark of Google LLC.
