Custom Tab Blocker
Overview
Block sites from opening new tabs, with one-click per-tab overrides and an optional hold-Ctrl bypass.
A Chrome extension that stops sites from spawning new browser tabs. Add a site to your block list and any tab it tries to open is closed automatically β with quick, per-tab overrides when you actually want a link to open. ## Features - π« **Block new tabs per site** β listed sites can't spawn pop-ups or `target="_blank"` tabs. - π **Covers subdomains** β blocking `example.com` also blocks `news.example.com`. - π¨ **Color-coded toolbar icon** β see each tab's state at a glance (green / red / orange / gray). - π **One-click temporary override** β allow or block a single tab; it resets when the tab closes. - β¨οΈ **Optional Ctrl-to-bypass** β hold Ctrl to let a link through, release to resume blocking. - βοΈ **Inline options panel** β manage everything in a floating panel on the page, no extra tab. - π **Private by design** β no accounts, no network calls; your block list stays in your browser. You have two ways to add a site to the block list: - **Right-click the icon β "Block new tabs from this site"** β blocks the site you're currently on. Right-click again to choose "Remove blocking tabs for this site" to unblock it. - **Options panel** β type a domain (e.g. `example.com`) and click **Add**. You can paste a full URL like `https://www.example.com/page`; it's saved as `example.com`.
