Custom Language Meta
Overview
Define or rewrite the language meta information (html lang / Content-Language) for a given web domain.
Custom Language Meta lets you define or rewrite the language metadata of any website on a per-domain basis. Some sites ship with a missing or incorrect lang attribute, which can confuse screen readers, translation tools, spell-checkers, and browser features. This extension fixes that — on your terms. How it works Click the toolbar button on any page to open a small dialog. Pick a language from the dropdown. The currently active language for the page is preselected automatically. Your choice is applied instantly and remembered for that domain. What it changes On every page from a domain you've configured, the extension updates the page's language meta information as soon as the page loads: the lang (and xml:lang) attribute on the <html> element, and the <meta http-equiv="Content-Language"> tag. Key features Per-domain overrides — each website keeps its own setting. Applied at page load, before content renders, plus live updates without a reload. Editable local language list (BCP-47 codes) — no server, no account. One-click reset to remove an override for a domain. Privacy All settings are stored locally in your browser and never leave your device. The extension collects no personal data and sends nothing to any server.
