CurrencyHover: Currency and Cryptocurrency Converter

The page content remains unchanged, and detected text is processed locally on your device. CurrencyHover identifies the value and source currency, applies the available exchange rate, and shows the result in a tooltip. The extension does not replace prices or insert elements around the original text. MANUAL CONVERTER Click the CurrencyHover toolbar icon to enter an amount manually, select the source and target currencies, and calculate the conversion. The popup also allows you to: • Pause or resume automatic conversion • Change the default target currency • Refresh exchange rates • Disable the extension on the current website • Open the complete settings page PRIVACY CurrencyHover processes a limited section of visible page text around the pointer to recognize monetary values. Detected page text and prices are processed locally and are not sent to exchange-rate providers. Rate providers receive only the requests required to download exchange-rate data and normal connection information, such as the IP address. Preferences, website rules, and custom API URLs may be stored using Chrome Storage. Some preferences may be synchronized by Chrome when browser synchronization is enabled. CurrencyHover does not use advertising, analytics, tracking for commercial purposes, mandatory accounts, or data sales. RATES AND CACHE Exchange rates are downloaded by the extension service worker and stored in a local cache. If an update fails, CurrencyHover may continue using the last valid rate and indicate that the result is cached or outdated. Rates are provided for reference only. They may not include spreads, taxes, card fees, bank charges, exchange fees, or other costs applied by financial institutions and service providers. REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS • Requires Chrome 120 or later • Works on compatible HTTP and HTTPS pages • Does not work on protected Chrome pages or the Chrome Web Store • Detects text-based prices only • Does not use OCR • Cannot detect prices inside images, videos, canvas, WebGL, or image-based PDF files • Does not process embedded frames • Some closed Shadow DOM components may prevent detection • An internet connection is required to update exchange rates • No account is required
