CurbSpec — Used Car VIN Check

On a used-car listing, one click opens CurbSpec with that VIN and mileage. Local scan; nothing is sent until you click.

On a used-car listing page, this extension looks for that vehicle's VIN. When it finds one, it shows a small button: "Check …74884 on CurbSpec" (the last eight of the VIN, so you can see it's the truck on the page) The button appears only on a single-vehicle listing, not on search results or homepages. One click opens curbspec.com with the VIN (and mileage, if visible) already filled in. CurbSpec compiles a one-time report: maintenance due at that mileage, known mechanical issues, and NHTSA recalls filtered to that vehicle. What this extension does: - Reads the current listing page locally for a VIN (JSON-LD or a labeled VIN first, not a random 17-character string in "similar vehicles") - Shows a button only on a vehicle-detail URL, and only when a VIN is found - Opens curbspec.com in a new tab if you click it What it does not do: - Collect, store, or transmit any data — nothing is sent anywhere unless you click the button, and clicking it just opens a normal web page - Run on search-result pages or homepages - Modify the listing beyond adding the one button Privacy: This extension reads the visible text of the current listing page, locally in your browser, to look for a VIN. It does not collect, store, or transmit browsing data, page content, or personal information. It does not request host access beyond the pages it is injected on. Its only network action is opening curbspec.com in a new tab if you click the on-page button, exactly like clicking any link.
