Overview

End-to-end encrypted note dock for Canvas quizzes: rich notes for students, synced settings and proctor review for teachers.

CueBoard is a sleek, modern, FERPA-compliant digital note dock and proctoring console designed for Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) quizzes and exams on Chromebooks and Chrome browsers. Empower students to bring teacher-approved formula sheets, outlines, and cue notes into their Canvas quizzes without compromising academic integrity, altering test conditions, or violating student privacy laws. KEY FEATURES FOR EDUCATORS & PROCTORS: - 100% In-Page Canvas Experience: Injects buttons and policy controls directly into Canvas quiz sidebars and headers—no need to click extension popups. - Independent Notes Due Date & Time: Set a submission deadline for notes completely separate from the Canvas quiz date. Students can edit and re-save until this deadline. - Individual Student Unlocks & Extensions: Grant editing extensions or unlock individual students whose deadline has closed or who need accommodations. - Study Guide & Answer Key Detection: Automatically scans note drafts for repeated question numbering (1. ... 2. ...), multiple-choice answer sequences (1. A, 2. B), full study guide definition dumps, and prohibited watchwords. - Post-Test Review Control: Notes can only be reviewed after the quiz if the teacher explicitly permits it. If disabled, notes are securely hidden post-exam. - Exam Lockdown Mode: Automatically detects active quiz attempts (/take) and converts student notes into an uneditable, read-only viewer. - Calculator-Style Dock Tab: Modeled after Canvas's calculator tool—a slim, sleek tab pinned to the right edge with real-time status indicators. - Dedicated Proctor Console: Inspect submission queues, review flagged notes, approve notes, attach proctor audit memos, and export gradebook logs (CSV, JSON, TXT). FERPA & STUDENT PRIVACY ARCHITECTURE: - Zero PII by Default: Student names and IDs are NEVER collected or stored without affirmative, voluntary opt-in consent. - Pseudonymous Identity: Submissions default to randomized aliases (e.g. Anon-A8F2). - 100% Local Storage: Operates entirely client-side using chrome.storage.local on the Chromebook. Zero data is transmitted to external cloud servers, ad networks, or data brokers. - One-Click Data Purge: Wipe local exam records with a single click at the end of each testing cycle.
